“The Center in Paris has come to serve as a model for University-wide global engagement, featuring robust participation by faculty and students, stimulating discourse, and strong relationships with local educational and civic institutions.”
—John W. Boyer
Programming developed in partnership with UChicago and external groups aims to answer questions about the U.S. that are of keen interest to Europeans, and to tackle problems that require global solutions. For example, the Institute of Politics will host an expert fellow in U.S. politics and public policy to lead seminars and lectures on various topics, and an American Studies program organized by leaders of the Karla Scherer Center for the Study of American Culture will include public outreach projects and events on the themes of American culture, literature, history, and more.
With the inauguration of the new Boyer Center in 2024, a wide range of thematic programming will be launched on topics spanning Climate and Energy, Comparative Urban Studies, Democracy and Empire, and more.
