The Center for Effective Government and the Chicago Center for Democracy propose a set of gatherings at the new University of Chicago Center in Paris over the next three years. Each year, we will organize one convening at the center, which will build upon our existing work (we held a gathering at the Center in Paris in February 2023) to develop sustained engagement with the center by a global network of practitioners and scholars of democracy. We propose our next gathering to be a Democratic Solutions Roundtable and an associated public panel to mark the launch of the new University of Chicago Center in Paris, to be held in March 2025. This will celebrate and draw attention to the Center. Following gatherings during this grant period will be held around a similar time of year in 2026 and 2027.
